How do I save Jobs to Rake?

There are four ways in which you can add and track jobs using Rake.

1.) The best way to save jobs using your phone is to enable iOS sharing so that you can directly save jobs to Rake.  See how to do this here.

2.) Within the Rake app, you can manually add a job using the ‘+’ sign in the upper right of the home screen.

3.) From your computer and via your Google Chrome web browser using our Rake Chrome Plug-in. See how to do this here.

4.) Emailing a job posting URL/link to: add@getrake.io   See how to do this here.

Can I save jobs that aren't advertised online?

Yes, you can manually track opportunities by simply clicking the “+” sign in the upper right corner of the main screen.

From there you can enter the details of the job opportunity, take notes, etc.

I saved a Job to Rake, but it's not showing up in the app.

First, make sure you used one of the methods outlined in the earlier FAQ: “How do I save jobs to Rake”.

If the job you are trying to save is on a job board or within another job search app, pressing the “Save” button on those sites/apps does NOT save to Rake!

Once again, you must use one of the four methods described in the earlier FAQ: “How do I save jobs to Rake”.

Rake saves any valid URL. However, if the URL points to a page that is not a job posting, Rake will still attempt to parse the data on the page as if it was a job posting, thus leading to a saved listing in your app that may contain incomplete data.  At which point, you can edit the listing or update it with the correct job information.

If you’ve added the job by sending it to add@getrake.io, this may take a few moments before it shows up.

If nothing is showing up at all, then please send us an email to support@getrake.io from the email address you used to create your Rake account.

Please make sure to include the URL that hasn’t saved and we will look into the problem.

Thanks.

I moved a Job to Applied, does this mean Rake sent in my application to the employer?

No!

Rake does not provide job application services, we simply allow for you to keep track of the jobs you applied to.

To apply to a job, follow the directions on the job posting and complete the application as they direct.

Even though you aren’t applying to job directly from Rake, it is important to keep tack of all the jobs you applied to.  It is recommended that you set follow-up items and reminders – this is critical in the job search process, especially after you just applied to and/or interviewed for a job.

Can I apply to Jobs directly from Rake?

No.  Rake does not directly integrate with a company’s internal system, known as an Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS).

However, if the job posting you save has an apply link, you can click that and apply (at which time you may still be in the Rake app even though there is not connection).

Follow the instructions on the job posting, and/or the job site where the job is being listed – sometimes this is the companies website or the ATS’ site.

Can I share my jobs with a friend?

Yes, you can share a job posting to a friend.  You can do this one of two ways.

When viewing the job posting there is a share icon on the bottom bar.

InAppBrowsserBar

Or, you can swipe left on the job listing in the Rake app and tap the share icon

LeftSwipteJob

This will allow you to email a copy of the job posting to a friend.

Can I search for jobs using Rake?

No.  Rake is not a job board nor a job posting platform.

When you see a job posting that interests you, simply save the job to Rake which acts as your single source for tracking all your opportunities in one place.

What happened to the job listing I saved? It's gone!

The saved job is Rake is different than the job listings on job boards, media properties and/or career websites. These sites host the job postings and they have expiration dates for each job; technically these are job advertisements.

Either the job was filled, closed or the company simply no longer wishes to advertise that job.

Whatever the reason, those sites do not always indicate when that posting will expire, so it makes it hard for Rake to tell you.

So the odds are that at some point the job posting information will be gone. And since Rake only saves the link of the job posting, we unfortunately can’t control when the listing will go away.

In the future, Rake will have a feature that will allow you to permanently save a copy of this job description so this doesn’t happen!

If this is a feature you are interested in, please send us a note at feedback@getrake.io

How do I assigned a reminder to a to-do item?

Once you have created a to-do item, your checklist, left swipe on the item, click the calendar icon and set the reminder date/time.

Also make sure to subscriber to your personal Rake CALENDAR FEED so that you can automatically be reminded about your items.

From the Rake mobile app, go to Settings, and click on the link in the CALENDAR FEED section, then accept the notification to subscribe to your personal Rake calendar feed.

From your computer, it depends on the calendar program you are using, but you can use the same feed link and it will also allow you to subscribe to your Rake calendar.

I assigned a reminder to a to-do item but never received a push notification.

Rake doesn’t push app notifications for items with due date/times.

However, we do have a CALENDAR FEED that allows all your reminders to be automatically included in your calendar of choice, both mobile and web. So every time you set a reminder it Rake, it automatically shows up in your calendar which will then remind you.

How come Rake won't allow me to change my email address?

The only time we do not allow you to change the email address on your account is if you signed in using LinkedIn.

If you create a Rake account, then from the Settings area, click on your email address in the Edit Account area. You can change your email address there.

Still have problems, email us at: support@getrake.io

Can I have more than one email account associated to my Rake account?

No.  Right now you can only have one email account associated to your Rake account.

In the future, we plan on allowing multiple email accounts.

If I create an account or sign-up, will recruiters be able to find me?

No.  Rake is designed for job seekers, not recruiters.

We built a platform that provides job seekers with tools to simplify their job search and help manage the process.

Recruiters and hiring companies do not have access to Rake thus the information you save is completely private to you.

Is my information and the information I save to Rake private?

Yes!  We absolutely do not share your information with other providers, especially employers or recruiters.

You should feel safe in saving any and all information as it relates to your job search.

Is there a way to export all my Rake job search data?

Yes!

Go to Settings > Export Data

Select export and we will send a .csv file to your account email address.

All the job listings, comments, activities, etc. will be included in the file.

I have an idea for a new feature, where can I send it?

Our customers feedback is very important to us, so please send us any suggestions to feedback@reignger.com.

What Job Boards do you support?

Right now our platform is optimized for the following job boards:

Indeed, Glassdoor, Monster, Zip Recrutier, Career Builder and LinkedIn.

We are able to capture jobs for mostly any job listing you can find online.

There are certain websites that make capturing the information difficult whether its intentional or not, they simple don’t design their job listing in a consumable format.  In these cases, we will always save the link to the job posting, but you may have blank information for company name, job title and location.

Also note that not all jobs will save with a Company Logo. This is because not all the sites provide a logo in a format Rake can use. In this case, Rake uses the first letter of the company name for the logo.

If you come across a job board that you would like us to optimize for, please send your request to: feedback@getrake.io

Can I save jobs from within other Job search apps? If so, which ones?

Absolutely you can!  This is the power of Rake.  We are the first and only job app that allows you to save jobs from within other job search apps!

Job apps that allow native ios “sharing” (saving) of jobs are:

Indeed, LinkedIn, Glassdoor, Monster, Zip Recruiter, CareerBuilder

Look for this icon Share50 in these apps, the location of the icon varies by app.

NOTE: Pressing the “Save” button in these apps does not save the job to Rake, you MUST use the share feature to save the job to Rake.

Will I be notified if a job is about to expire?

No, job boards, media properties and/or career websites have expiration dates for each job. These sites do not always indicate when that posting will expire, so therefore it makes it hard for Rake to tell you.

So the odds are that at some point the job posting information will be gone. And since Rake only saves the link, we unfortunately can’t control when the listing will go away on those sites.
